Description

  • An RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) is a sensor whose resistance changes as its temperature changes. The resistance increases as the temperature of the sensor increases. The resistance vs temperature relationship is well known and is repeatable over time. An RTD is a passive device.

Key Features

  • Predictable and repeatable resistance–temperature relationship

  • High accuracy and long-term stability

  • Resistance increases linearly with temperature

  • Passive device requiring external excitation current

  • Suitable for precise temperature measurement in various environments

Applications

  • Industrial process temperature monitoring

  • Laboratory testing and calibration

  • HVAC, refrigeration, and climate control systems

  • Chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries

  • Power plants, boilers, and energy systems
